For 22 years, the Oxfordshire Business Awards has been recognising, rewarding and promoting the excellence of Oxfordshire-based companies. Organised and supported by 15 of the county’s leading organisations, the Awards are firmly established as a benchmark for excellence in today’s competitive business environment.

More than 400 business leaders and their staff gathered at the glittering awards ceremony at the Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel in Sandford-on-Thames.

"Absolutely amazing” said Stuart “We couldn’t have asked for any better recognition for the hard work, blood, sweat and tears of over 10 years of operating!"   He and his delighted management team tried to stay remain cool and composed, but their beaming smiles were a total give away as they filed up to receive the Apprenticeship Scheme of the year award.

After the ceremony (and a few glasses of bubbly) Stuart added: "All of the staff back at the office have worked really hard and deserve this recognition - they will be delighted - I am very proud of them all for making it happen”

"As group of companies working closely together we strive always to do things to the highest possible standards and never to be afraid to do things differently.”

About 300 firms came forward this year to compete in 15 different categories and now, in their 22nd year, the OBA’s are as competitive as ever.  After a rigorous interview process three finalists for each category were chosen by judges. “Winning the awards seemed like a tough call given the esteemed company they were in.  Back at HQ we secretly knew they would do it!” Rachel Knight, Marketing Associate for the BarrGroup Companies

Awards chairman Paul Lowe said: "Tonight sees a celebration of some of Oxfordshire's most prestigious companies. It is a huge privilege to be associated with these awards as they go from strength to strength.”

Huge congratulations also to our friends Lottie Duncan and Alison Isherwood, of fellow Thame based organisation Thame Food Festival who won The Heart Cultural Events and Tourism Award.

The ‘Oxfordshire Apprenticeships’ Apprenticeship of the Year Award was seeking to reward businesses that exceed normal standards and expectations in the provision of their scheme.  Factors under the spotlight included the level of support and mentoring offered to candidates, empowerment of the individual, additional learning opportunities and the positive onward journey of apprentices after they have completed the scheme.
