TrakD - Sharing the Secret to Effective Business Management in the Construction Industry.

For years StuartBarrCDR have been continually working on improving their efficiency, customer service and internal processes - allowing our contracts managers and construction directors to do what they do best - running jobs.

This month saw the launch of TrakD; the business tool StuartBarrCDR has been using for the past 3 years. TrakD was built to meet the needs of StuartBarrCDR and its sister companies, but is set up to support as many similiar industry users as required. Each business user has its own completely individual TrakD set up and user identification, personally tailored to them - ensuring that it operates in the most efficient way for their business.

The launch meeting, held at the StuartBarrCDR Field Farm offices, kicked off with beers, followed by a presentation from the software developer Sean Worthington. Sean explained how the system was developed and why it is different from anything currently available. “TrakD is the only software actually designed by a builder for a builder.  The advantage is that it takes into account the real needs of the builder on the ground - both in the office and onsite. It is not only easy to use and also simplifies admin systems so users can get on with managing jobs and winning new business”.

TrakD already supports user companies from electrical services providers to small to medium sized local building companies to our own bespoke handmade kitchens company. It is a simple, yet powerful online application that lets each user company grow its business without increasing its admin. It will help to manage jobs, clients and workforce better, as well as giving a useful insights onto how profitable each and every job has been, enabling users to focus effort more effectively on future projects.

Amongst many other functions, TrakD has tools for scheduling labour and automating staff notifications - it can be set up to send all staff an automated email with details of the following days work. Tablet and mobile access mean that TrakD works wherever you need it; users can operate their business in the office or out onsite (or on the beach!) all you need is internet access.

TrakD also allows users to view each job at a glance: it is easy to see which jobs are awaiting quotes, which need following up which are in progress or when they are due to start/ wrapping up. It gives dedicated client access: with an easy to use client portal through which you can share documents with clients as well as signing off any job changes with ease.

Powerful budget reporting allows users see how much has spent on a job to date and know your profit margins at the press of a button. You can run reports based on job size, location and customer type.
