This property was owned by the Chief Environmental Advisor at the National Trust, and so naturally existing ecological solutions for all areas of building work were used, and some even created. All materials used were from sustainable local sources where possible, and old materials not needed were strictly disposed of in order to leave a low carbon footprint. The renovations required a great many structural changes so that the family could have the large open living space they wanted. In addition the kitchen was designed and handmade by the StuartBarr team. The clients are now enjoying the home they always wanted together with low running costs.
