RIBA Henley Design Day; Saturday 17th March; a date in the diary for Creativity & Design

The Barr Group are delighted to be joining local architects and design focused organisations this weekend at the 6th  annual  RIBA Henley Design Day. Covering the wider area of Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, Henley Design Day is a great opportunity to meet local experts in architecture, design and build, gather some inspiration and discuss your current or pending projects.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champion better buildings, communities and the environment, through the work of its members and by pioneering events like this one. HDD is set to bring together like-minded specialists and organisations, each offering excellence in their own particular field.

The Barr Group Team are looking forward to catching up with some previous ‘conspirators’ from exciting past projects. RPA Architects, also attending on Saturday, shared the challenge of ‘Upside’, an innovative and eco-friendly new build in South Oxfordshire.

Images 1 shows the drone view of a stunning and unsusual project, designed by RPA, award winning design for a property which sits predominantly into the ground. Take a peek at ground shot images and the residence lit at night on the RPA project page.

ADAM architecture, with offices in Winchester and London, specialise in both traditional architecture and urban design.  Image 2 shows just one example from a superbly impressive potfolio.

Also with us on Saturday, based on the Banbury Road in central Oxford, are  Riach Architects  with a gallery that speaks a thousand words - a visit to their project page is a must! Image 3 shows one of their many great projects.

JW Architects, based in Beaconsfield and headed up by James Wheelan, will also be joining the HDD experts - image 4 shows a fabulous example of their work.

Over in Wallingford on the Oxfordshire / Berkshire border are Carroll and Partners, with both traditional and contemporary projects, image 5 shows an outstanding example in the latter category.

Image 6 shows a current Barr Group build, designed by London and Thame based architects HollandGreen.

Image 7, from up and coming Fineline Architects, shows one of their current project local to Henley, in which brick columns and crittall glazing set a rhythm across the new section of the building.

This year Henley Design Day will be showcasing the work of local female architects. The architectural and construction industries have historically been male dominated arenas. A dedicated ‘Women in Architecture’ table offers a plethora of female architects and guest designers, available to talk through your ideas and offer a unique approach which may be the key to bringing your project to life. “Clients are often keen to work with women architects and all of us at the ‘Women in Architecture’ table will have a range of small, medium and large residential and commercial projects in our portfolios. So, come over, say hello and see what we could achieve for you!” says Zoe Smith, director of  ZLA Ltd, Reading.

You will find Henley Design Day at Henley Town Hall this Saturday (17th  March) from 10am to 3pm. Entry is completely free, just come along.  StuartBarr CDR BarrJoinery  &  BarrKitchens will be there and are happy to discuss your plans, whether for an imminent project or thoughts for the future.
